Do I need to convert my footage first?
No. Standard MP4 and MOV files upload as they are.
Does it matter what resolution I filmed at?
It matters for how the finished highlight looks. Highlights are built by framing in on a player, so cropping into 4K leaves far more detail than cropping into 1080p. Film at the highest resolution you can, and film wide rather than zoomed.
